This sweet little squirrel is named after ‘Sue’ a.k.a Suraliyama - one of the lovely sewists I met in India when I visited Bluemango. There I saw the cutest Indian squirrel which the locals call ‘aneel’ and thought it was a toy design just begging to be made! This toy pattern has some small pieces so I wouldn’t recommend it for a beginner toy maker who should start with one of my easy patterns.
Recommended fabrics:
I sewed my squirrel with quilting cottons. You could use minky, cuddle and even fake fur especially for the tail to give your squirrel a fun fluffy look.
Part of our Rome Collection, the Pietra Pants & Shorts are the best of both worlds; a flat front, high-waisted silhouette with the comfort of an elastic waist in the back. Featuring lengthening panels in the front with slanted hip pockets and a hidden waist stay, you’ll never want to take them off.
Choose between four leg styles: a wide leg in floor-skimming or cropped length (View A), a slim and tapered leg (View B), or gently flared shorts (View C).
Go bold with this dramatic cocoon silhouette and angled seaming. Choose lightweight fabric for a spring/summer version or cosy wool for cooler weather. This is a pattern for every season. Our fully lined Sapporo Coat also features cropped sleeves, tapered cuff and pockets hidden in the front seams.
Fabric
Can be made in any woven fabric; from a light cotton, rayon or silk right through to a heavy wool. The choice is yours!
