As part of an ongoing design series, Alabama Studio Style builds upon techniques explored in Alabama Stitch Book with new stitching, stenciling, and beading methods, applying them to twenty extraordinary clothing and home decor projects. Also included are recipes comprising three delicious menus. Alabama Studio Style shows us that true style encompasses not only what we wear, how we decorate, and what we eat, but also how we care for our environment.
The Hadley is drapey, fluid, and sophisticated. It is the semi-formal top that you need to wear to work or to throw on over your jeans for a night out. View A has a jewel neck, a pleat at the back neckline, and bracelet length sleeves. View B is sleeveless and features a soft V-neck. Both are subtly geometric as they have center seams in front and back as well as a wide hem.
Details: Beautiful details elevate the Tofino Pants from simple lounge pants to a well created garment. Sizes: 0-16 included Skill Level: Beginner Format: Paper Here's the first pattern that you won't want to leave the house in! The Tofino Pants are cozy, casual pyjama pants for lounging at home. They're more fitted than your typical slouchy PJ pants, but just as comfortable! The rise is cut higher in the back and lower in the front so it's more comfortable for sitting. Faux-fly detail adds a modern touch. Piping and vertical seaming down the sides elongates the leg and adds a bright touch of colour. At the waistline, there's both elastic in the casing and a fabric tie belt to customize the fit. Your choice of full length pants or knee length shorts. If you're a beginner, you could definitely make these pants, but you may want to skip the piping on your first pair to make them even easier to sew. So cosy, you'll reach for them the minute you get home! Note: Pants on model are hemmed to fit, and are about 4" (10cm) longer than the garment shown. Check the finished inseam measurements when making your own pair! Sizing is proportioned for a pear-shaped figure: smaller waist, larger hips.
Designed with the transitional seasons in mind, the Tamarack Jacket is a warm and stylish quilted coat perfect for spring and fall layering. You’ll stay toasty thanks to the inner layer of cotton or wool batting, while the roomy welt pockets will keep your belongings safe and your hands warm.
Techniques involved include straight seams, basic quilting, sewing darts, inserting welt pockets, and applying bias binding.
