Finished Size: 8-1/2in tall and 14-1/2in long. An elephant with its trunk up is meant to symbolise good luck. This didn’t make sense to me because I’m originally from Africa where an elephant with its trunk UP means it’s about to charge and you’re outta luck! BUT let’s go with the positive! I wouldn’t recommend this pattern for beginners because the tusks and trunk are a little bit fiddly. Georgie will be a cute gift for anyone you feel could do with a little bit of luck in their life!
Finished Size: 25cm 10in tall / 38cm 15in long Mickey Moose may not be as famous as his rodent namesake but he’s just as cute! It took a while to work out how to design his antlers so they didn’t flop but I am pleased to say Mickey is a fine, upstanding member of the moose community! This pattern is suitable for an intermediate or adventurous beginner sewist.
Finished Size: 30 cm / 12 inches
This sweet little squirrel is named after ‘Sue’ a.k.a Suraliyama - one of the lovely sewists I met in India when I visited Bluemango. There I saw the cutest Indian squirrel which the locals call ‘aneel’ and thought it was a toy design just begging to be made! This toy pattern has some small pieces so I wouldn’t recommend it for a beginner toy maker who should start with one of my easy patterns.
Recommended fabrics:
I sewed my squirrel with quilting cottons. You could use minky, cuddle and even fake fur especially for the tail to give your squirrel a fun fluffy look.
Finished Size: 41cm (16 inches)

Monty is a is a quick and easy pattern which will look great in all sorts of colors, not just manatee-grey!

Plattie is the first “Aussie Mates” Funky Friend. He is also one of the SIMPLEST Funky Friends patterns so I always recommend this pattern for beginner toy-makers and for children. He is suited to most fabrics but I like making him out of fleece which gives him a warm furry feel! With his cute little upturned bill and squidgy body, he’s bound to get loads of cuddles.

Gertie Gecko HEAT PACK looks so sweet with her googly eyes and curled tail. She's a simple pattern and will be nice and quick to make and a great first project for beginners. She’s only little so she is still a little bit clumsy as she practices balancing on one leg, but I think she’s starting to get the hang of it! She is a quick and simple pattern to sew and you’ll have fun using up your fabric scraps for her wings. Make her in bright cheerful pinks or experiment with other colors of the rainbow too!

I designed this cute patchwork pussy cat because Tula Pink asked me to! It's true! She wanted to make some cats for her booth at Quilt Market. I love cats and Tula Pink's fabrics so I said, 'SURE!' Patch has lots of pieces so this is NOT a good pattern for beginners but she is great for combining and showing off a range of gorgeous fabrics!
Uses Maywood Babe in the Woods Collection.
Finished Size: 16in/40cm
He is a simple pattern and will look great in all sorts of colors. You can use felt for the spots,or you can use up your scraps of light brown fleece! I like to keep things simple so I used squares for the spots, BUT I have also included some templates for giraffe-shaped spots - based on the spots of a REAL giraffe!
